The year is 2004, some will nickname the year as Punk Rock/Pop Punk’s best year, many of the TOP bands released their most known albums and some others the ones that put their name out there.
If you do the maths correctly, this year marks the 20th anniversary for these iconic melodic CD’s, to celebrate that we compiled a list of our favourite albums, check it out!

September 21 2004, the California trio put out the album that would catapult them further to the mainstream scene, after their huge success with “Dookie" in 1994, this time the band leaned more into the controversial and political side of self expression. Winner of the 2004 grammy Best Rock Album of The Year.
This album brought us so many memorable songs such as: The self titled American Idiot, Holiday, Jesus of Suburbia, Whatsername and the grammy winner song Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

If we go back a few months prior, summer 2004, the rising icons of MCR released what would be the album that they’ll be known the most for the rest of our time. With this album, the band produced a more polished sound than that of their 2002 debut album “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love”. This era also shaped the aesthetic that MCR would be recognised for such as lead singer Gerard Way's iconic makeup and red tie.
This album gave us so many iconic tunes such as: Helena, I’m Not Okay (I Promise), Cemetery Drive and Thank You for the Venom.

Being the fifth studio album of the band, released on September 21st, it became a staple in the band’s discography. From the first song to the last, "A Hangover You Don't Deserve" is one hell of a good album. Experimental, even. Bowling for Soup experiments with a piano and acoustic guitar on several tracks ("Ridiculous", "Friends of Mine", etc). Their first single “1985”, quickly became a hit peaking at Nº5 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart. This album as well prompts them with a Golden disc certified by RIAA.
Other memorable songs from this album are: Almost, Ohio (Come Back to Texas) and Trucker Hat.

After the successful release of their 2002 debut album “No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls”, the canadian band came back in 2004 with their second studio album “Still Not Getting Any” releasing on October 26. Even though critics came for their necks calling the album a “whiny and putrid teenage angst record”, the public had a completely different opinion, making this one of their most iconic releases in the band’s discography. Going Platinum 4 times in Canada, twice in Australia, and in the USA and New Zealand. Peaking at Nº3 in the US Billboard 200, proving critics wrong.
This album brought us so many iconic songs like: Shut Up!, Welcome To My Life and Jump.

Following the Canadian pipeline, another amazing artist followed their 2002 successful debut, being none other than the iconic singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne. Dropping on May 21st, the Canadian singer came strong with a more heartfelt and personal release. Debuting at Nº1 on the Billboard 200 and winning three Juno Awards (Artist of the Year, Juno Fan Choice Award and Pop Album of the Year).
This album came filled with bangers, the most memorable ones being Nobody’s Home, Forgotten, Don’t Tell Me and the two times Platinum My Happy Ending.

Hot Fuss is the debut studio album by American rock band the Killers, released on June 7, 2004. Featuring one of the most iconic songs ever ‘Mr. Brightside’, the album brings back 80s rock but with a completely rejuvenated sound. It was the 26th best selling album of the 2000s decade in the United Kingdom, and is listed among the top 40 longest-charting albums in the history of the UK Albums Chart, with 254 weeks. Also going 6 times Platinum in the US and 8 in the UK.
This debut came in heat also giving us hits like Somebody Told Me, All These Things That I’ve Done, Smile Like You Mean It and Jenny Is A Friend Of Mine.

Moving once again to Canada, SUM 41 released their third studio album Chuck on October 12, 2004. It is the last album to feature guitarist Dave Baksh as he left Sum 41 on May 11, 2006. Baksh later rejoined the band in 2015. The band have cited Metallica and Refused as major influences. Peaking at Nº2 on the Billboard Canadian Albums and two time Platinum in Canada.
The album came with a wide range of bangers like Pieces, No Reason, We're All To Blame and Some Say.

One more banger of a third release, this time by the American Rock band Good Charlotte. Peaking at Nº3 on the US Billboard 200 charts and going Platinum on both the US and Australia. The album was released on October 5 through Epic and Daylight Records in two different editions: Life (with "Falling Away" as a bonus track) and Death (with "Meet My Maker" as a bonus track), both with different artwork created by Martin.
This album brought us beloved songs such as I Just Wanna Live, We Believe and Predictable.

Peaking at Nº2 on the Billboard 200, the band’s fourth studio album was released on May 18, 2004, selling 146,000 copies in its first week, later certified gold by the RIAA in August 2004. Philip Obenschain of Alternative Press said the album was a "nostalgic snapshot of a mid-career transition", which not only displayed what the group were capable of when under pressure, but also that "pop-punk could reach a broader radio and MTV audience without compromising its credibility".
This album came with crazy tunes like A Downhill from Here, Truth of My Youth, The Disaster and At Least I'm Known For Something.

Releasing on August 31st, another great fourth studio album, this time Papa Roach’s turn with Getting Away With Murder. The album was a departure from the band's previous works, showcasing an alternative rock and hard rock sound instead of a nu metal and rap metal sound. Going Platinum in the US and with the song "Not Listening" was featured in the video games NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup in 2004, FlatOut 2 in 2006, and Gran Turismo 4, and was also featured in the trailer for the 2004 film Resident Evil: Apocalypse.
We obviously have to mention bangers from the album such as Scars, the self titled Getting Away With Murder and Not Listening.
Some of these amazing bands to celebrate the milestone are going on tour, like Bowling for Soup or New Found Glory, here we give you all the info you need to not miss these amazing opportunities.
- BOWLING FOR SOUP
- AVRIL LAVIGNE AND SIMPLE PLAN
- NEW FOUND GLORY
- PAPA ROACH

Shops 1st Try in Austria was an event we just couldn’t miss. It’s not your typical trade show—it’s a gathering where the best retailers and brands come together to showcase what’s new and exciting in the world of snowboarding and streetwear. Naturally, we were ready to bring our best to the table.
Set in the insanely beautiful Alpbach, the event was all about connecting, testing gear, and just soaking in the energy of the snowboard and streetwear scene. It wasn’t just about showing off our socks (though, yeah, we did that too); we also brought along Kiddo, our iconic inflatable skater mascot, to keep the vibes fun and energetic. it was about hanging out with our community and seeing how American Socks fits into their adventures. We’re not just a brand; we’re part of a lifestyle.

Our booth? Straight-up fire. We even had some exclusive socks made specially for the event, featuring a unique design that celebrated the spirit of Shops 1st Try. Bright, bold, and unapologetic—just like our socks. Everyone was stoked to check out our newest collections, especially our eco-friendly designs. Sustainability is a huge deal for us, and it was rad to see how much people appreciated that. Shredding powder is just better when you’re also taking care of the planet, right?
The best part? Seeing our socks in action. Shops 1st Try isn’t just about looking good—it’s about performance. Riders and retailers put our socks to the test in real-world conditions, and they crushed it. Comfort, durability, and style—we delivered on all fronts. Plus, we got to meet shop owners who are just as obsessed with their craft as we are with ours. Instant connection.
Of course, it wasn’t all work. We hit the slopes, made some new friends, and totally soaked in the après-ski vibes. Every laugh, every shared story, and every moment out there reminded us why we love being part of this culture. It’s more than just socks; it’s a way of life.
Shops 1st Try was epic, but it’s just the beginning. The energy and inspiration we got from this event are fueling us for what’s next. We’re already cooking up new ideas, new collabs, and fresh designs to keep things moving. If you were there, you know how special it was—and if you missed it, don’t worry, because we’ve got so much more coming.
Our new Signature Socks from PUNK NECK RIVIERA are here, and they’re everything American Socks stands for.

This drop goes back to where it all started:
tattoos, punk energy, skeletons, skate sessions, and doing things your own way. It’s the stuff we grew up on: raw, unfiltered, and made to last. The designs speak for themselves: wild, weird, and full of attitude. You’ll find:
– Piranhas, surfboards, crabs, and deep-sea diver helmets
– Dark skulls in flames and radioactive ones spitting snakes
– A skeleton chilling in a hammock by the beach
– An anarchist kid causing mayhem
– A tribal tiger and an eastern dragon with attitude
– Skeleton hands holding a voodoo doll
– A mystical fortune teller surrounded by flowers, eagles, and tarot cards
– A punk surfer riding the end of the world
– A party-destroyed house
– A skeleton rocking a guitar wrapped in roses
– A demonic cat surrounded by burning skeletons
– A wild patchwork of traditional tattoo art: daggers, roses, skulls, hearts, panthers...
– A cozy yet chaotic British pub scene with pints, pool tables, and greasy breakfasts
– Some seriously twisted rubber ducks in full punk/anarchist mode
– And yes… even a character decapitating people, because why not?

These socks aren’t here to follow trends. They’re here for the ones who ride through the city, fall down, get up, and keep going. For those who draw on their skin, jump fences, stay out too late, and live by their own rules.
The designs are bold, the fit is on point, and the vibe is unmistakable.
Signature isn’t just a name, it’s who we are.
We’re super excited to finally share our latest collab: a limited edition pair of socks designed together with Mogwai, an iconic post-rock band!
If you don’t know them already (where have you been?), Mogwai is a Scottish band formed in 1995 in Glasgow. They’ve been making powerful and mind-blowing instrumental music for decades and now we’ve joined forces to turn that vibe into something you can wear.

This isn’t just merch. It’s a tribute to a band that’s inspired us for years, and we’ve put a lot of love into creating something special for their fans and for everyone who loves music with feeling.
Only a limited number of pairs are available, so once they’re gone, that’s it. Don't miss the opportunity.

Grab yours now.
This season, we’re not playing it safe.
Our new collection Punk Neck Riviera is made for messy nights, wild afternoons, and all the unpredictable moments in between.
First drop: Monday, April 14th at 13:00h.

Think bruised knees from dancing, warm beer at sunrise, jumping into the sea with all your clothes on, unplanned tattoos, and the kind of stories that start with “okay, so what happened was…” but you’re already laughing before you even finish.
The kind of memories you probably won’t tell your mom about but you’ll never forget.

This drop is for those who live fast, laugh loud, and collect memories like stickers. Whether you're partying on a rooftop or getting lost on some random beach, do it with style.

It’s not just a look, it’s a whole state of mind with a little chaos included.
Don’t miss it. Summer’s about to get weird — and we’re here for it.
Welcome to the Punk Neck Riviera clothing collection, where streetwear meets chaos. This summer, we’re bringing you a mix of graphic t-shirts, skater-inspired styles, and punk clothing that’s made for turning heads whether you’re at the beach or at a gig.

Each piece is packed with bold artwork and alternative vibes:
– A crewneck sweatshirt with a skeleton surfing a tropical wave, flowers down the sleeves, and that perfect worn-in feel.
– A graphic t-shirt featuring a wizard-frog skating like a legend.
– A long sleeve tee with a zombie ready to jump at you.
– A wild short-sleeve tee with a car parked at the cinema and legs hanging out the window (you know the vibe).
– A Baphomet t-shirt wrapped in red flames.
– A tee with a cute dog in a wrecked living room, ready to welcome you home.
– A shirt with the face of a half-demon, half-skull kid. Both cute and creepy.
– One button-up shirt with flaming skulls, eagles, and biker helmets.
– Another button-up full of beach themed icons like skulls with sunglasses, beers, bikinis, sunscreen, surfboards, ice cream melting under the sun and more.
– And to finish off: a punk-style football jersey with a big 13 on the back and spiderweb graphics on the sleeves.

This is alternative summer fashion with an edge perfect for punks, skaters, festival-goers, and anyone who likes their outfits with a bit of bite.
Made to wear often and to stand out.
At American Socks, we’ve always said that music and fashion go hand in hand. It’s not just about what you wear, it’s about what you stand for. That’s why we’re stoked to team up with LANDMVRKS, one of the sickest bands coming out of the French metalcore scene, to drop a limited edition of socks that hit just as hard as their music.
If you don’t know them yet, LANDMVRKS are from Marseille and have been making noise since 2014. What started as “Coldsight” quickly turned into the powerhouse they are today. Imagine a perfect mix of hardcore punk and metal, with influences from bands like Bring Me the Horizon and Architects but with their own twist. They’ve toured Europe, the US, Japan, and right now they’re melting stages in New Zealand and Australia.
A few weeks ago, they released their new album The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been. Heavy, emotional, raw. It’s not just breakdowns and riffs (though there are plenty of those). They went deep this time talking about fear, self-reflection, and all those dark places we all go through. They even brought in some hip-hop vibes, and honestly, it slaps.
We’ve been bumping into each other at festivals for years, hanging out, having beers, sharing stories. At some point, it just made sense to create something together. So, we joined forces with an artist friend who gets both our vibes, and designed socks inspired by the artwork of The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been. Dark, powerful, and straight-up badass.

You’ll only find these socks on LANDMVRKS’ official store and at their shows. Limited edition, so if you want a piece of the band you can actually wear, now’s the time.
From the whole American Socks crew, we’re wishing the guys in LANDMVRKS an epic tour and even bigger things ahead. We’re proud of this collab and can’t wait for what’s next. Metalcore and socks: best combo ever.
At American Socks, we love teaming up with people who bring the same fire we do. We're talking about The Baboon Show.

If you’ve ever seen them live, you know what we’re talking about. Pure energy. Pure attitude. No filters. They’ve been doing their thing since 2003, blasting their punk rock anthems all over Europe and mixing old school vibes with a fresh kick in the teeth. It’s loud, it’s fun, and it hits hard.
One of their most iconic songs is “Radio Rebelde”. A track that’s not just catchy, but a full-on shoutout to doing things your own way. To fighting, loving, resisting or whatever it is that keeps your soul burning. That song was the spark for this collab.
So we got to work. The idea was simple: turn that rebel energy into socks. Socks that stand out. That feel alive. That scream “I’m here and I don’t care what you think.” The result: a flaming radio design, straight from the heart of Radio Rebelde. It’s loud, it’s bold, and yeah... it totally rocks. These socks will only be around during The Baboon Show’s summer festival tour. After that, they’re gone. So if you’re a fan, or you just love wearing stuff that means something, you know what to do.

For us, this collab is more than merch. It’s about celebrating the connection we’ve built over the years in festivals, backstage, and on the road. Same passion, same mindset.
We just got back from touring Japan with KNOSIS and honestly… we’re still buzzing. This trip wasn’t just a product collab: it turned into one of the most unforgettable experiences we’ve ever had.
From day one, it felt like American Socks was part of the band. We packed into the van, shared way too much sushi, drank sake like locals, laughed our asses off on the road, and somehow made it to every show in one piece. The KNOSIS guys? Real ones. Ryo especially, an absolute beast on stage and the chillest human off it. They welcomed us like family, and that’s exactly how it felt.

Every show was chaos. The Japanese metal scene? On another level. The mosh pits were brutal, people flying through the air, screaming every lyric, sweat dripping off the walls, it was beautiful. The kind of energy that makes you remember why you fell in love with live music in the first place.

We dropped a limited-edition sock collab inspired by the band’s logo and style, and it sold out faster than we could’ve imagined. Seeing people wear them in the pit, jumping off barriers, covered in sweat, wearing American Socks… unreal.

We were there for all of it, setting up our stand at every show, hanging with fans, taking photos, living in the moment. And yeah, we captured everything: the noise, the smiles, the chaos, the love.
This collab means a lot to us. Not just because it crushed it, but because it came from a place of real connection. KNOSIS, you’ve got a place in our hearts. We’re proud to have done this together, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
Big love to everyone who came out. You made this real.
If you’ve been following American Socks for a while, you’ve probably seen Ankor rocking our socks on stage, backstage, in random selfies… They’ve been with us since the early days. Supporting, vibing and showing up.

For us, they’re part of our story. So yeah, teaming up for a collab was bound to happen: two projects with the same energy doing something cool together.
Ankor is that perfect mix: they bring heavy riffs, catchy hooks, metalcore vibes with EDM touches, but also a fun, laid-back attitude that makes every live show feel like a party. They can hit you with a breakdown and two minutes later have you singing at the top of your lungs. That balance is exactly what we wanted to capture in this collab.
These socks carry their powerful sound and good vibes in every single stitch. Designed to be bold, to stand out, and to be worn with the same confidence Ankor brings on stage. Plus, of course, comfy as hell (we wouldn’t have it any other way).

But here’s the deal: These socks are tour exclusive. You’ll only find them at Ankor’s shows during their 2024-2025 tour. Limited edition, no restocks. So if you’re planning to catch them live (and honestly, you should), this is your chance to bring home a piece of that energy.

Ankor’s journey is inspiring. From Tarragona to playing massive festivals like Wacken, Hellfest, Resurrection Fest… They’ve done it their way, evolving their sound, staying true to themselves. And that’s something we totally relate to.
This collab is about celebrating a connection. About giving back to a friendship that’s been there since day one Because we’re all here for the same reason: Loud music, good people, and wearing cool socks.
We’re beyond excited to drop an exclusive collab with Petit Brabancon, the Japanese supergroup that’s shaking up the alternative metal scene.
Petit Brabancon might be a new name to some, but their lineup is straight-up legendary. We’re talking Kyo from DIR EN GREY, Yukihiro from L’Arc-en-Ciel, Miya from MUCC, Antz from Tokyo Shoegazer, and Hirofumi Takamatsu from The Novembers. These guys know a thing or two about heavy riffs, raw emotion, and pushing boundaries. Their sound is a wild mix of heavy metal, hardcore punk, nu metal: super intense, experimental, and 100% fire.
To celebrate their upcoming “CROSS COUNTER -02-” tour, we’ve teamed up to create something special: the “Mad Dog” socks. This limited edition design captures the wild energy of Petit Brabancon, made for fans who want to wear that same attitude from head to toe. But here’s the catch... you’ll only find these socks in two places: our store in Koenji, Tokyo, and at the tour concerts. So if you’re in Japan this September, you know what to do.

If you’ve never been to a Petit Brabancon show, le us tell you something: it’s intense. Loud. Relentless. The kind of gig where you leave sweaty, exhausted, but absolutely buzzing. Heavy riffs, insane drums, and a stage presence that’ll blow you away.
And if you’re around Tokyo, make sure to swing by our Koenji store. Whether you’re hunting for the “Mad Dog” socks or just want to dive into the American Socks universe, we’ll be there.

This collab is a celebration of music, attitude, and self-expression.
Petit Brabancon brings the heat and we bring the style. See you at the shows.
This last March, American Socks landed at RUMBLExJAG 2025, the festival shaking the foundations of punk and rock at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname. And we didn’t come empty-handed: we brought an exclusive collab that lit the place up.

Inspired by the festival’s bold lightning logo, we designed a pair of red socks that captured their rebellious energy. Available only at our booth, they quickly became the must-have accessory of the weekend.

The lineup brought serious voltage to the stage, with performances from Crossfaith, 10-FEET, BRAHMAN, Ken Yokoyama, Paledusk, and many more. Each band delivered raw power and unique energy, creating a weekend to remember.
Our booth was more than just a place to shop, it became a hangout spot for fans of rock and alternative fashion. Beyond the exclusive collab, sockers had the chance to explore more of what American Socks is all about and take home a piece of the brand.

We couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome. The passion and excitement from the crowd blew us away. Japan, we’ll be back.
This year's Slam Dunk Festival was everything we could’ve asked for. Loud. Sweaty. Ridiculous in the best way.
We set up shop in both Hatfield and Leeds, and from the moment the gates opened, it was mayhem. The good kind. Thousands of people running to the main stage, drinks in hand, eyeliner smudged, ready to scream their lungs out. And we were right in the middle of it with socks, stickers, laughs, and no voice left by Sunday night.

This year’s lineup was stacked. A Day To Remember, Neck Deep, Electric Callboy, The Used, Finch, Hot Milk, Wargasm, Alkaline Trio, Less Than Jake... just hit after hit, stage after stage. If you didn’t lose your voice, were you really there?

We dropped a limited edition collab just for the fest. Loud colors, bold attitude, built for jumping, dancing, surviving the pit. People were loving them. Some literally changed into their new socks right in front of us because they couldn’t wait. That kind of energy? We live for it.

Of course, the Slam Dunk collab wasn’t the only thing flying. Our stand was packed with people picking up Kaiju Kings, Ghostbusters, all-time favorites, and a few sneaky new designs we brought along.
But honestly, more than the sales or the product drops, what stuck with us was the atmosphere. Slam Dunk isn’t just about music: it’s about people. You bump into familiar faces from last year, meet new ones, connect over shared band obsessions, and suddenly you and a stranger are both wearing the same socks across the circle pit. It just happens, and it’s amazing.

We got to talk to fans, bands, photographers, and loads of new folks discovering American Socks for the first time. The conversations, the laughs, the stories... they’re what really make these weekends special.

So if you came by, said hi, grabbed a pair, snapped a photo, or just screamed next to us during a breakdown, thank you. You made Slam Dunk 2025 what it was.
We’ll be back.
